Tuesday High School Mission Trip Update

Hey Y'all!

The southern hospitality has been good to us down here in Lumberton so far. The advance set up team has been here since last Wednesday working with the disaster response team down here to get everything ready for our group to work this week.

Now that everyone is here and we have a full day of work under our belt it really feels like HSMT 2017 is in full swing.

For those of you who aren't that familiar with PCW Youth allow me this humble brag. Our students are the best! They are gifted, charming, funny, beautiful, humble people. And they are surrounded by some of the best grown ups. We do a lot all year to build our faith and community but we have more time and opportunity on this trip than anywhere else.
That's why we love it so much and why we never shut up about it. I'm sorry - but we're just so excited!

Day 1 is always full of surprises. But luckily one of the surprises from this Day 1 was that our PCW family is coming through for us even when we are so far away. Shout out to Sally Wright for telling us about her alma mater located down here. We spend Monday night eating pizza, playing kick ball and watching the sunset on their beautiful campus. Thanks Sally!

Our team is learning a lot about what it means to walk with a community through these early months of recovery work. We feel honored to be a part of the process that brings displaced families back into their homes.

Please keep up the continued prayers! If you grabbed a Mission Team bracelet with one of our names on it wear it and share it! Take a picture and post it to social media so we can remember that our friends and family back home believe in us.

More good stuff to come!
